Appetizing photos of potato arrangements

At Snapshot Studio, we carried out another photo shoot dedicated to potato dishes, this time for a restaurant that wanted to present its products in an attractive premium version. The main goal of the project was to create photographs that not only showcase the dish itself, but also build the right atmosphere, stimulate appetite, and strengthen customers’ perception of the offer.


During the shoot, we focused on making the products look natural, fresh, and as appealing as possible. We used a variety of additions, backgrounds, tableware, and decorative elements, which gave the final shots both a restaurant-style and promotional character. This type of food photography for restaurants is now extremely important both in online marketing activities and in printed materials, as well as in social media communication.










Why do restaurants invest in professional food photography?




In the food industry, customer choices are often strongly influenced by visual stimuli. In this project, we wanted to highlight the potato dishes not as a typical side dish, but as an ingredient that can look exceptionally appetizing and help distinguish the restaurant’s offer. What did the potato food photography session look like?




The session was carried out in a way that allowed us to create rich visual material that can be used across various communication platforms. We did not stop at a single product shot. Instead, we created several compositions that differed in arrangement, accessories, and framing style.


The potatoes were photographed surrounded by carefully selected elements that highlighted their appetizing appearance. We used, for example, suitable backgrounds, wooden and stone surfaces, decorative tableware, and fresh additions that created an atmosphere reminiscent of a restaurant setting. As a result, the photographs are diverse while still maintaining a consistent aesthetic.


The key elements of this session included:




1. Choosing the styling of the arrangement – background elements, tableware, cutlery, napkins, and decorations.
2. Careful presentation of the dish – so that the fries appeared fresh, crispy, and tempting.
3. Use of lighting – highlighting the texture, color, and visual warmth of the dish.
4. Composition of the frame – guiding the viewer’s eye and emphasizing the most important ingredients.
5. Variety of angles – from wider shots to details and close-ups.


This approach provides the client with a diverse set of materials that can be used on a website, in social media, in promotional campaigns, in food ordering applications, or in printed menus.
